Fire system

A school’s fire system includes multiple facilities crucial for student safety, such as an integrated fire alarm network with audible alerts, readily accessible fire extinguishers and manual call points, and clearly marked fire exits and escape routes. 

The school has modern systems including advanced smoke control measures like pressurization or exhaust to keep evacuation paths clear and provide early warning through mass notification systems. 

Regular drills, inspections, and maintenance are done to ensure these life-saving systems are functional and occupants know how to respond effectively in a school. 

Training to use all fire equipment is given to the teaching staff, non-teaching staff as well as older students regularly.

Fire system is available on each floor of a school:

• Fire alarm and detection system: A network of smoke detectors and manual call points that trigger an audible alarm when a fire is detected.
• Fire extinguishers and firefighting equipment: Portable units and hoses are strategically placed throughout the building and clearly marked for immediate use.
• Smoke control systems: Techniques like pressurization (forcing air into stairwells to keep smoke out) or smoke exhaust systems help keep evacuation routes clear.
• Fire exit and escape routes: All doors and stairways keep clear and in proper working order, with a designated assembly point outside the building for occupants to gather.
• Mass notification system: A system that can broadcast urgent messages, often through speakers, text messages, and emails, to alert everyone to the danger and provide instructions.
