


A Leap Toward Innovation: ATAL Tinkering Lab Inaugurated in Rajasthan Schools, Shahibaug, Ahmedabad
On June 30, 2018 : In a significant move to foster a culture of innovation and curiosity among young minds, the ATAL Tinkering Lab (ATL) was officially inaugurated today. This initiative, part of the Central Government’s flagship program under the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), aims to transform the educational landscape by providing students with a workspace to “tinker” and learn through hands-on experience.
Distinguished Guests and Leadership
The inauguration ceremony was graced by high-profile dignitaries who emphasized the importance of blending traditional education with modern technology.
• Chief Guest: The lab was inaugurated by Shri Bhupendra Chudasama, the Honorable Education Minister of the Gujarat Board. Despite the regional setting, his presence highlighted a collaborative spirit in elevating educational standards across state lines.


Guest of Honor: Joining him was Shri Pradip Parmar, Member of Parliament, along with prominent members of the school management committee.
During the keynote address, Shri Chudasama remarked, “The youth are the architects of our future.
By providing them with tools to innovate today, we are ensuring a technologically advanced India tomorrow.”
Financial Support and Infrastructure
The establishment of this state-of-the-art facility was made possible through the robust support of the Government of India.
Grant Amount: The school received a substantial subsidy to kickstart the project.
Allocation: The funds are designated for the procurement of high-tech equipment, including 3D printers, robotics kits, sensors, and open-source microcontroller boards, as well as the operational expenses for the coming years.


What is an ATAL Tinkering Lab?
The ATL is more than just a science lab; it is a workspace designed to help students between Class 6 and Class 12 develop a “neoteric” (modern/innovative) mindset.

Looking Ahead
With the ribbon officially cut, the lab is now open to students. The management expressed their gratitude to the NITI Aayog for selecting their institution, marking this as a milestone day for the students of Rajasthan Schools. As these young innovators begin their journey, the ATAL Tinkering Lab stands as a beacon of progress and a testament to the power of practical education.In the academic year 2024-25, various subject related activities were conducted in Rajasthan Schools. In the first academic session, various electronic components like resistors, capacitors, transistors, etc. were taught. These components were introduced to students and they also learnt to measure voltage and current through ammeter and voltmeter. Voltage regulation using IC’s was also taught. In the second academic session, construction of various robots and crane was taught to the students, including projects like clap switch, series and parallel construction of resistors, etc. Also, a science project U.V. Germ Killer was made by the students
ATL provides a work space where young minds can give a shape to their ideas through hands on do-it by yourself mode and learn innovative skills.
This is a platform where students are encouraged to think creatively and innovatively. It nurtures a spirit of curiosity, inquiry and problem solving among young minds through practical learning. Students gain exposure to science, technology, engineering, mathematics, robotics, coding and design thinking.

Gyanodaya Shishu Mandir, a Pre-Primary English Medium School, was established in 1989 under the visionary guidance of Convener Late Shri Moolchandji Dasani and Trustee Shri Tejkaranji Luniya. The school began with a single Senior KG Class.
Under the dynamic leadership of Headmaster Shri Talukdarji Chandel, the school expanded from a Junior KG to Grade 8 institution.
