For the past few years, the department has been organizing various competitions like IT exhibition, IT quiz, IT based drama etc. in the computer lab every year. Additional computer classes for class 10 and 12 are also organized during Diwali and summer vacations.
For the past few years, training in software and computer languages like GIMP, Adobe Illustrator, BASIC-256, C, Python, Java, etc. is provided to the students of primary schools during summer vacations.
Rajasthan Schools Computer Department was established under Rajasthan Sewa Samiti in July 1992 under the guidance of C.A. Shri Mahendrasinhji Mehta. Under the joint guidance of C.A. Shri Mahendrasinhji Mehta and Shri Babulalji Shekhani, the Computer Department has been imparting education and training to the students of Hindi and English medium in primary and secondary streams since its inception. Presently, the Department is progressing smoothly under the guidance of Shri Vivekji Shroff.
In the beginning, the lab had computers with monochrome monitors. With the development of time, at present the lab has client server connected to network system and LCD monitors. The department has 6 servers of Windows and Linux Operating systems. Two labs are equipped with 40 client-server and 30 Desktop systems for higher IT education. The lab has 2 projectors, 4 air conditioners, 4 cameras, and a laser printer. For the past few years, the computer department has been running a library equipped with IT and science related magazines for the students.
In order to keep themselves updated with the latest technical knowledge with time, the teachers of the department keep receiving internal and external technical IT training.
Hence the main objective of our department is to promote the latest study of technology and techniques among the students and to ensure all-round development of the students.
