R.H.H.S. School — Rules & Guidelines

1. Our Objectives

To impart knowledge as per Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.

  • To focus on moral and character development.
  • To maintain discipline, regularity, and orderliness.
  • To foster all-round development of students through co-curricular activities.
  • To develop positive qualities such as humility, courage, and tolerance in students.
  • To place appropriate emphasis on sports.

2. Scholastic Incentive Scheme for Students

  • To encourage meritorious and weak students by providing special guidance.
  • To organize extracurricular activities.
  • To provide adequate reading facilities through reading rooms and libraries, encouraging use of reference books and other reading materials.
  • To encourage participation in social welfare activities.
  • To enhance academic engagement through a permanent system of scholarships, medals, and prizes.

3. School Discipline Rules

A student may not remain absent from school without obtaining leave from the class teacher. Leaves of more than three days, and leave requested after returning to school, will be approved only by the Principal. A student who remains absent without leave and continues to be absent for a week, even after being given notice, will be removed from the attendance sheet.

4. Rules for Attendance and Leave

The following rules apply to all students of R.H.H.S.:

  • Regular attendance at school is essential for all students.
  • Students can request leave only for urgent work.
  • Students must bring a written application from a parent for leave.
  • The leave application must be kept in the school diary.
  • Students should not ask for half-day leave.
  • Students must take permission from the class teacher before taking leave.

5. School Uniform

Every student must come to school wearing the school-prescribed uniform. Students not in proper uniform will not be allowed to sit in class.

Prescribed Uniform — Boys

  • Shirt — Long shirt as per sample
  • Pants — Navy blue, as per sample
  • Socks — White
  • Shoes — Black leather
  • Belt
  • Identity Card (I-Card)

Prescribed Uniform — Girls

  • Shirt — As per sample
  • Pinafore — Navy blue, as per sample
  • Socks — White
  • Shoes — Black leather
  • Belt — Blue
  • Identity Card (I-Card)

Winter Wear & School Badge

  • In winter, both boys and girls are permitted to wear only a navy blue sweater.
  • It is mandatory to wear the school badge on the top left side of the shirt. Badges can be obtained from the school.

6. Rules for Examinations & Assessments

  • Students must reach the examination hall at least 10 minutes before the commencement of the exam.
  • No student will be permitted to enter the hall after the first 30 minutes have elapsed.
  • Students must carry their Hall Ticket / I-Card to every examination.
  • Use of unfair means, copying, or any form of cheating will result in immediate cancellation of the paper and disciplinary action.
  • Mobile phones, smartwatches, or any electronic devices are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
  • Students must write neatly and answer only within the allotted space.
  • Answer sheets must be submitted before leaving the hall; students may not take them outside.
  • Minimum 75% attendance is mandatory to be eligible to appear in final examinations.

Note: Students absent from unit tests or internal assessments without prior leave approval will be awarded zero marks for that assessment.

7. Use of Mobile Phones & Electronic Devices

  • Mobile phones are strictly prohibited within the school campus during school hours.
  • If a student is found carrying a mobile phone, it will be confiscated and returned only to the parent/guardian.
  • Repeated violations will result in the device being retained for the remainder of the academic term.
  • Smartwatches, earphones, and wireless earbuds are also not permitted on school premises.
  • Tablets or laptops may be brought only when specifically instructed by a teacher for a project or activity.

8. Classroom Conduct & Behaviour

  • Students must stand and greet whenever a teacher enters or leaves the classroom.
  • Students must be seated in their assigned seats before the teacher arrives.
  • No student shall indulge in loud talking, shouting, or disturbing behaviour during class.
  • Students must not write on desks, walls, or any school property.
  • Eating, drinking (except water), or chewing gum during class is strictly prohibited.
  • Students must bring all required books, notebooks, and stationery every day.
  • Homework and assignments must be submitted on the due date. Late submissions will incur a penalty at the teacher’s discretion.
  • Students should raise their hand and seek permission before speaking or leaving their seat.

9. Library Rules

  • Students must maintain complete silence inside the library.
  • Library cards are non-transferable; students must not lend their card to others.
  • Books must be handled carefully; damage or loss of library books will be charged to the student.
  • Books may be borrowed for a period of 7 days and must be returned on time to avoid a fine.
  • Reference books, encyclopaedias, and periodicals may only be consulted within the library premises.
  • Eating and drinking inside the library is strictly prohibited.
  • Students found misusing the library will have their borrowing privileges suspended.

10. Rules for School Events & Co-Curricular Activities

  • Students are encouraged to participate in all school events, sports meets, and cultural programmes.
  • Misbehaviour or use of inappropriate language during events will lead to disqualification and disciplinary action.
  • Students representing the school in inter-school competitions must maintain exemplary conduct.
  • Attendance on Sports Day, Annual Day, and other compulsory school events is mandatory.
  • Students must follow instructions given by teachers assigned as in-charge of any event.
  • Damage to school equipment or event property will be charged to the responsible student.

11. Hygiene, Cleanliness & Campus Care

  • Students must keep the classroom, corridors, and school premises clean at all times.
  • Littering on school grounds is strictly prohibited; dustbins must be used for all waste.
  • Students must use toilets and washrooms with cleanliness and leave them in a hygienic condition.
  • Students must wash their hands before and after lunch.
  • Students suffering from contagious illness (e.g., chickenpox, conjunctivitis) must stay at home until fully recovered and produce a medical certificate upon return.
  • Spitting on school premises is strictly prohibited and is considered a punishable offence.

12. Parent–School Communication

  • Parents are requested to check the school diary every day and sign wherever required.
  • Parents must attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) regularly to stay informed about their child’s progress.
  • Any change in the student’s home address or contact number must be communicated to the school office immediately.
  • Parents must not come to school during teaching hours except in cases of genuine emergency.
  • All formal communication with the school should be through the school diary or official letters only.
  • Parents are requested not to send excess pocket money with students.

13. Anti-Bullying & Respectful Behaviour

  • Any form of bullying, physical or verbal harassment, or ragging is strictly prohibited and will be met with severe disciplinary action.
  • Students must treat all classmates, teachers, and school staff with respect and dignity.
  • Discrimination on the basis of caste, religion, gender, or economic background will not be tolerated.
  • Any student who witnesses bullying or harassment should immediately report it to the class teacher or Principal.
  • Students must not use offensive, abusive, or derogatory language within or outside the school premises.
