Tobacco Awareness Campaign
A unique initiative was undertaken by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in collaboration with the Education Department on 26/3/2025 to prohibit tobacco use and promote awareness among school students .
The objectives of this campaign is
- To educate students about the ill effects of tobacco use.
- To prevent the sale of tobacco products within 100 yards of educational institutions.
- To encourage students to abstain from tobacco use.
Under this various awareness programmes like workshops, seminars and lectures were organised to educate students about the dangers of tobacco use.Anti- tobacco ,Posters and Banners were also displayed in schools to create awareness.
The campaign resulted in increased awareness among students about the dangers of tobacco use, and a significant reduction in tobacco use among students
The campaign plans to expand its reach to more Rajasthan schools in Ahmedabad and involve parents, teachers, and the community in tobacco prohibition efforts.
